Learn How to Lead Intensity—Without Trying to Fix Your Child
Intensity isn’t the problem—misdirected energy is.
The Nurtured Heart Approach® teaches you how to lead with clarity, intentionally energize greatness, and create lasting change—without behavior charts, power struggles, or trying to change who your child is.
What Is The Nurtured Heart Approach®?
The Nurtured Heart Approach® (NHA) is an evidence-based methodology designed specifically for children with intense behaviors. It’s not about behavior management—it’s about relationship transformation.
Unlike traditional approaches that rely on consequences, rewards, or fixing what’s “wrong,” NHA shifts the focus to building a child’s inner wealth. Instead of trying to change who a child is, this approach helps them recognize their intensity as a strength—something powerful and meaningful when guided with clarity and connection.
By intentionally energizing success and limiting energy to negativity, children begin to see themselves differently. Their intensity is no longer a problem to suppress, but a source of leadership, creativity, and resilience. The result? Children develop genuine self-regulation, confidence, and emotional intelligence—because they believe in who they are, not because they’re being controlled.
NHA is built on 3 Core Stands:
Stand 1: Absolutely No!
Refuse to energize negativity. Learn to give minimal, calm responses to unwanted behaviors instead of accidentally rewarding them with your energy and attention.
Stand 2: Absolutely Yes!
Actively and relentlessly recognize and celebrate success—even in small moments. Build inner wealth by helping children see their own greatness.
Stand 3: Absolutely Clear!
Provide clear, consistent rules and boundaries. When rules are broken, redirect quickly without lectures or drama, then return to noticing success.
Social Worker
I now see that ignoring negative behaviors is actually counterproductive—it doesn’t help the child return to a calmer state. This workshop opened my eyes and helped me understand that many of the old techniques we’ve used with children don’t work. In fact, they often make the behaviors worse.
JS, Mother of Special Needs Child
Wow! There is a different way of doing things. We can actually correct our children and redirect the behavior without physical punishment. Now I know how to establish rules and consequences that will steer my child in the correct direction.
1st Grade Teacher
When I met Janice, I felt like I was drowning. She came into my classroom, celebrated my strengths, and helped me pinpoint areas causing stress. With her help, I got joy in my classroom back, and peace of mind in my life. I am forever grateful.
